Description
This homemade Alfredo sauce is luxuriously creamy and rich, made with butter, garlic, heavy cream, and freshly grated Parmesan. It’s a restaurant-quality sauce you can make in your own kitchen in minutes. Perfect for pasta night or as a base for endless Italian-inspired creations.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 0.5 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Slowly stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 5–6 minutes, allowing it to reduce by 1/3.
- Whisk in grated Parmesan cheese and continue to cook over low heat until cheese melts and the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir frequently to avoid burning or separating.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately over your favorite pasta.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of cream if needed to restore consistency. Great with fettuccine, linguine, or pappardelle. Try adding sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or grilled chicken for variety.
